Rodents are warm-blooded mammals that, like humans they are a group of nuisance pests that includes mice, rats and another animals.

Most rodents are herbivorous, feeding exclusively on plant material such as seeds, stems, leaves, flowers, and roots. Some are omnivorous and a few are predators.

Intelligence

Rodents have advanced cognitive abilities. They can quickly learn to avoid poisoned baits, which makes them difficult pests to deal with.Rodents can learn and remember complex pathways to food. Rats are able to locate caches of food by spatial memory, rather than just by smell.[

Norway rats are the most widespread , believed to be of Asian origin, but are now found throughout the world.
These rats can cause damage to properties and structures through their gnawing.

The Norway rat is nocturnal and is a good swimmer, both on the surface and underwater, and has been observed climbing slim round metal poles several feet in order to reach garden bird feeders. Brown rats dig well, and often excavate extensive burrow systems  The Norway rats don't chew to feed only , but also do so in order to preserve their front incisors. These teeth grow continuously throughout the life of the animal. So they chew electrical cables and furniture

The Norway rat can breed throughout the year if conditions are suitable, with a female producing up to five litters a year. The gestation period is only 21 days, and litters can number up to 14. The maximum life span is three years, although most barely manage one.

Worldwide, rats and mice spread over 35 diseases. These diseases can be spread to humans directly, through handling of rodents, through contact with rodent feces, urine, or saliva, or through rodent bites. Diseases carried by rodents can also be spread to humans indirectly, through ticks, mites or fleas that have fed on an infected rodent.

This web page offers helpful suggestions on rodent control during and after a rodent infestation. The primary strategy for preventing human exposure to rodent diseases is effective rodent control in and around the home. This is achieved by :

*Eliminating any food sources.

• Keep food in thick plastic or metal containers with tight lids.
• Keep outside cooking areas and grills clean.
• Clean outside the house.
• Put food waste in plastic or metal containers with strong lids

*Sealing even the smallest entries into home, because the Mice can squeeze through a hole the size of a nickel, and rats can squeeze through a hole the size of a half dollar!

Prevent rodents from entering the home by checking inside and outside the house for gaps or holes.

Fill small holes with steel wool. Put caulk around the steel wool to keep it in place. Use lath screen or lath metal, cement, hardware cloth, or metal sheeting to fix large holes.

Make sure to close the flakes

* Successfully trapping rodents in and around the home. Choose an appropriate snap trap. Traps for catching mice are different from those for catching rats. You can buy it from our stores and our staff will tell you how do you use it.
